Back from a Break

The past couple years have been tumultuous for us all.

I am no exception. Most of the turmoil was in my head, and left Phinea in the dark. The adventures of Trathe have been shaped by inspiration and life. The story of his step-father, Ross, is in the drafting process. The story of Trathe's offspring has a completed draft, courtesy of NaNoWriMo 2018. This story I hope to complete by the end of 2022.

I am happy to report that I will be writing more and posting more updates

Based on past history, this is not a difficult to reach, and one I will surpass multiple times as the process of finding an agent, a publicist, and a publisher for my work will be a journey I am happy to record. As a person living their lives, I want to make a positive impact in the lives of others while being able to support my own. This is the journey of the success of all my characters, both real and imagined.

2018 Report

This year was one of great change. It only makes sense, then, that I finished The Great Shift (Book 3) before I finished Finding Home (Book 2). My goal is to finish Finding Home before the end of January 2019. I will be attending a writer's conference in February, during which I hope to gain direction and insight on how to publish the next books in the series.
This year I left my profession because I was unable to enact the change I desire to make in the world. I thought I had found my social home, and realized that I had not. I am not satisfied with small change: I want to change the world. Realizing that I had more to offer, and more thinking to do, I left a noble career to think. I will now be writing both this series and a new theory. The latter will, if all goes to plan, lead to a Doctorate and a series of semi-fictional stories that detail how I see my theory being implemented in the world.
Phinea is a world that reflects my view of reality. I see great beauty, rare purpose, and general geniality in all people. I believe that if we care for and understand the world, then the world will provide us with insight and abilities that will help us thrive, not just survive. I also see darkness and write on the side of those seeking to stop it. There is so much now to distract us that I find it easy to lose sight of what's really important: who we are, where we belong, and what we were. These three are the corresponding themes for the first, and maybe only, three books of Phinea.

Writing Time

To all who have been patiently awaiting Finding Home, your patience will be rewarded. I have taken time from full-time occupation to devote time and brain space to the completion of the sequel. The outline has been completed, and the first part (of five) has been written. Here are a few things to look forward to in the follow-up to Lor Banesmith:
  1. Learning how the world came to have three suns
  2. Understanding the nature of magic in Phinea
  3. Family reunions
  4. Conclusion of the story lines for Ross, Trathe, and the Aegis
I look forward to hearing your feedback and keeping you updated as the conclusion of the writing process draws nearer. As soon as I know when the book will be released, a countdown will be added to the blog page. Thank you all for your support.

Finding Home...and Time

I now have time to keep my fans, and random curious people, up to date with the World of Phinea. Thank you for everyone who read Lor Banesmith, and are waiting patiently for me to write the sequel. Finding Home is now underway, and I expect to finish it some time this summer. Keep checking in to hear about the themes and progress of this work. What I am most excited about with regard to this story is the complete change in story arc. While the first story follows a classic fantasy/Tolkeinian plot line, the follow-up is a more in-depth look at Phinea and the landscapes it contains. I also wanted to wrap up the current story line, so that the world can be explored through other characters in other parts of the super-continent on which all principle characters live.

Buying Lor Banesmith

Thank you to all of my fans and friends who have purchased a copy of Lor Banesmith. I know it took me 3 years to buy some paper copies to sign, but I did it! If you want one of the remaining copies, which I sign and write a note, let me know ASAP.
Hopefully the story whets your appetite for more tales from Phinea.

It's Published!!

Lor Banesmith is available for purchase. My first work is available at Xlibris.com,  amazon.com,  and barnesandnoble.com in both paperback and ebook. It has been out for over a month, so I will be holding a book signing locally before the end of the year. Please give my story a try and support a small author.

It's Done...but

Lor Banesmith, the first installment in the Phinea Stories, is finished and off to the publisher.  Only one thing is keeping it from print...my photo.  I find it humorous that after almost nine years of thinking and writing, it is something as simple as a picture of myself stopping the presses.  I will have this, hopefully, within the next two weeks.  This means that the book should be available for download and purchase in the beginning of October.  When I have a firm release date, I will post that as well.

Almost done!

**Woohoo**  The final edit is being done as we speak.  My publisher should have the copy before Patriot Day.  Thank you all for your patience.  The first story of Phinea is almost available for you to read.

Working hard-ish

Last night I finished editing another chapter.  I am now officially stuck in the same place I was two years ago.  At least this time all I have to do is edit.  I am shooting for a September release.  Wish me luck.

Update

I am in the final edit of Lor Bansmith!  I have actually been so for a couple months, and am about halfway through.  The final book will be around 60,000 words.  It was shorter than I had anticipated, but I am happy with the story and am just making sure the story flows smoothly and the gross errors have been removed.  The publisher is anxiously awaiting the manuscript, so I anticipate the release to be in Fall of this year.
